There is no frigate like a book - for Soprano and Piano

Another little song, this time with noodley free-chosen vowels

There is no Frigate like a book,
to take us Lands away.
Nor any Coursers, like a Page
of Prancing Poetry.
This Traverse, may the poorest take
without Oppress or Toll.
How frugal is the Chariot,
that bears the Human Soul.

Emily Dickinson

  2. Lifting the lydiand out bursts unapologetic joy! Flattered to be hearing some familiar sonorities :)

Such great vocal writing, the right sop would have a blast with this

    1. It was hard not to write 'play alice's piece for 33 minutes before proceeding' :)
