I think this might be the last of my Sara Teasdale contralto pieces. I tried to push myself into faster and more rhythmically interesting territory, rather than doing my usual slow sad thing. :) I might want to add clapping or a hand drum to this also...

ReplyDeleteI can totally hear some percussion timbres happening for this one as you described. Perhaps like a quarter note pulse or simple rhythm ostinato that crosses the bar lines, maybe displacing itself by a quaver on significant moments in the text or something like that.
